During the maintenance window and until 9am the Cloud Technologies main number +32 (0)2 669 05 00 will be rerouted to the 24/7 Network Operations Center, resulting in direct communication with our senior engineers.

Distribution and Partner channels must communicate with the Thinfactory and CloudPlaza Customer Care Center at +32 (0)2 720 58 44.

Participants in this migration will be the Senior Operations Engineer.

Abstract

As part of on-going commitment to provide a reliable, resilient and scalable infrastructure for Cloud Technologies services, we will be replacing the existing core switches responsible for inter-DC and intra-DC switching at all our datacenters in Brussels with a more capable model.

We are looking for an experienced Operations Engineer to join our team here at Cloud Technologies; you will be based in Diegem, Belgium and operating in the greater Brussels area.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of change makers and to play a pivotal role in a rapidly evolving environment at an organization providing IaaS-style solutions.

As a Operations Engineer, you will maintain the core infrastructure by providing support for day-to-day operations and work with other departments within the organization. You will also develop, maintain and build the most awesome cloud infrastructure you could ever imagine.

The responsibilities, skills and aptitude for this position will require a broad skill-set including:

  • Installing and maintaining physical equipment (servers, storage, network) in a datacenter environment
  • Experienced with virtualization technologies (VMWare, ESXi, vCenter)
  • Passing familiarity with both Windows and Linux operating systems
  • A basic comfort with creating tooling for automation of administration and testing
  • Fundamentals of networking (Ethernet & IP, Routing & Switching)
  • Experience with operations of high-reliability and high-availability virtualized IT systems including disaster recovery
  • Comfortable both at the office behind a computer and at a datacenter with a screwdriver if the job calls for it
  • Willing to learn new skills and develop a competency at working with in-house tools, as well as  contribute ideas
  • Knowledge of Linux scripting and PHP is highly preferred
  • Fluent in English and preferably also in Dutch
  • Team player who is equally passionate about documenting his work as he is about performing it
